Award-winning baby travel systems provider.
In recent years, Cosatto has taken travel systems and accessories for babies to a whole new level. From quirky car seats to fashionable strollers, they’re on a mission to save the world from boring baby stuff.
Cosatto needed a new website that was robust, reliable and fully responsive. The new platform needed to maximise both the brand’s initial and long-term sales, ensuring a smooth transition from their current bespoke platform with minimal disruption.
After careful consideration of other ecommerce providers, Shopify Plus was the perfect solution – Shopify is at the forefront of ecommerce innovation and reflects Cosatto’s stylish and fashion-forward approach. It was also perfect for a growing business – unmatched in scalability and unlimited bandwidth.
Cosatto decided to work with Velstar – as one of the most trusted Shopify Plus agencies in the UK, we were best placed to design and develop the site, as well as being experts when it comes to migration from other platforms with a no-hassle approach.
From the outset, we carried out extensive research to understand Cosatto’s target audience, offering and brand ethos. We found that the brand has large social media following on Instagram and with most of their website traffic coming from mobile; we took a mobile-first approach.
With this in mind, we connected all Cosatto’s social media channels to the site to ensure the brand’s loyal customer base could easily connect with them on every platform. We made their branded hashtag: #bemorecosatto along with a powerful CTA visible throughout the shopping journey, to maximise UGC shared by customers on these social channels.
Creating a simple yet dynamic design was our key goal, with Cosatto focusing heavily on the visual impact of their products. Our team of UX and UI designers created a fresh, new user experience utilising Cosatto’s extensive brand materials and service offering.
And given the large number of products, categories and branded content available, we simplified the navigation around the site with a drop-down menu. This declutters the main navigation, allowing the user to shop with ease. What’s more, to further simplify the customer journey, the collection pages were stripped back and replaced with a grid format showcasing top-level products.
Also, we implemented a search bar which showcases ‘recently viewed items’, ‘most popular searches’ and ‘trending products’ to allow users to browse the site more intuitively and offer them a more focused search experience. And we integrated Klevu to ensure the search bar provides shoppers with both fast and relevant search results.
When it comes to purchasing decisions regarding travel-systems, child safety is of great importance. So, we made sure Cosatto’s customers could easily access this kind of information quickly. To do this we undertook a complete overhaul of Cosatto’s product pages, implementing detailed descriptions, product videos (on selected products), testing and safety information, and ‘5 reasons to buy’ facts. Additionally, we integrated the reviews platform, Trustpilot on every product, to increase brand transparency, trustworthiness and product confidence.
With a majority of Cosatto’s audience in the younger demographic, we integrated Klarna, which allows customers to spread the cost of their purchase over instalments. This featured prominently throughout appropriate areas of the site to drive sales and boost AOV.
During initial conversations, Cosatto highlighted they were unhappy with their original email marketing platform because of its limited customization capabilities. With this in mind, we integrated Klaviyo, so Cosatto can store and access key data about their customers and create more personalised, automated email flows.
Finally, to ensure Cosatto’s store is fully protected, we implemented back-ups plug-in, Rewind. And since Rewind backs up all items individually, Cosatto has much more flexibility in how they restore their data.
The new site captures the true essence of what Cosatto is all about; it’s modern, design-focused and functional, perfectly suiting the needs of its young customer base. The platform will allow the brand to respond to the ever-changing needs of their customers and business, regarding sales, offers and new product lines.
Since the launch, the new site has been well received by Cosatto’s customers, with the brand already seeing significant ROI. Following the initial success and strong relationship with Velstar, Cosatto is continuing to work with us to build additional international stores.
