Global, luxury fashion brand.

Who

Lavish Alice is a contemporary fashion brand offering luxurious quality womenswear pieces across the globe. Founded in 2013, A-listers love the label for its modern, feminine pieces.

The Challenge

The Magento 1 platform had let lavish Alice down frequently, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday when their site crashed because of a high influx in traffic. So decided it was time to move away from Magento to a platform that was secure, reliable and scalable. Shopify Plus ticked all the right boxes.

Next, Lavish Alice needed to find a Shopify Plus agency to partner with on the project. Following a competitive pitching process, Velstar was chosen to help migrate the brand to Shopify Plus.

The Solution

With a mobile-first approach, our team of designers and developers got to work building a bespoke Shopify Plus store. A central focus of the project was ensuring that customers could browse intuitively and with minimal effort. We achieved this by updating the user interface with easy-to-navigate touchpoints and creating a sleek and smooth customer experience.

Also, we wanted to leverage Lavish Alice’s large social media following, particularly on Instagram, and use this to help the brand drive conversions and increase revenue. So we integrated the brand’s Instagram page to the store and added this to the main menu navigation (#lavishalice). The page encourages users to share images of themselves wearing Lavish Alice’s products. Not only does this provide social proof, but it also helps Lavish Alice build their customer community.

To further enhance customer experience and drive conversions, we implemented a ‘Wishlist’ function. This allows customers to save their favourite products during the shopping journey and come back to them at a later date. Wish lists are a great remarketing tactic and can help merchants gain further insight into product demands. For Lavish Alice’s customers, their wish lists are shareable on Facebook, Twitter and Email too, which will help drive further traffic to the brand’s store.

What’s more, to increase AOV and offer Lavish Alice’s customers more payment flexibility, we integrated Klarna. The buy now, pay later app offers customers three different ways to pay for their purchase, thereby managing their cash flow better, so customers are more inclined to spend more. This also reduces friction at checkout which helps reduce cart abandonment and increases conversions.

Other third-party app integrations included email marketing platform, Klaviyo. This will help Lavish Alice create more highly targeted email campaigns and uncover more sales opportunities with A/B testing.

Lavish Alice’s previous platform provider Magento 1 allowed a high level of flexibility in reporting, we were able to develop a bespoke Chrome Extension to extend the Shopify native reporting, enabling the client to access Shopify Plus’ extended services without compromise.

In addition to the Chrome extension, once migrated, our developers also created a bespoke reporting system integrated into Google Analytics to automate daily, weekly and monthly performance via email.

On completion of the platform migration and customised UX and UI design, our in-house team implemented a new ecommerce strategy for the brand, including growth marketing techniques to improve their discoverability across organic search.

The Results

Following the site launch and Velstar’s marketing expertise, the number of top 3 ranking positions achieved has increased by 401%. Also, the brand saw a 151% increase in revenue, a 27% increase in conversion rate and 40.75 increase in ROI.
