A treasure trove of fashion and accessories.
Founded in 1998, Virgo Boutique is a fashionista’s dream! Combining affordability with cutting edge fashion, they remain one step ahead of their competitors. In 2013, Virgo Boutique went from bricks to clicks and have since seen phenomenal growth, with record-breaking sales throughout Europe.
In the competitive world of fast-fashion, Virgo Boutique recognised how important it was to keep up and offer an online experience that their customers can glide through with ease. And with the original platform failing to perform in every aspect, it was time for the brand to move to a new platform.
Next, began Virgo’s search for an ecommerce agency that could help. Known for transforming the online experiences of some of the biggest fast-fashion brands in the world, Velstar was a perfect choice.
From the outset, we carried out extensive research to get to know the brand, its business objectives and customers. From there, we soon realised that a custom Shopify platform was most suitable for the brand.
Central to the design brief was creating a user-friendly experience that was responsive on mobile. So our UX & UI designers followed ecommerce best practices, to do just that. We introduced a suite of navigational improvements, including the integration of a search bar so customers can shop seamlessly, in fewer taps.
When designing Virgo’s new store we took a minimalist approach, allowing the product images to take centre-stage. The product pages followed the same aesthetic, with a clean and simple layout for maximum impact.
What’s more, a key issue Virgo highlighted with their previous platform was how time intensive it was to make small changes. To rectify this issue, we incorporated Virgo’s marketing needs into the new design, making it easier for the client to update areas of their site when required.
Another key focus of the new site was to help Virgo Boutique boost customer retention and reward loyal customers. To do this we partnered with Smile to create a bespoke loyalty program named ‘Virgo Rewards’. The program structure allows members to unlock exciting perks and access exclusive rewards, as well as encourage referrals through incentives.
Finally, to create a multi-channel experience and strengthen Virgo’s brand image, we implemented a store pick-up capability. This gives customers the flexibility to pick-up their purchases in the bricks-and-mortar store.
We successfully built a scalable store, allowing the brand to explore multiple currencies spanning across Europe and the US. Since the launch, the brand has seen significant conversions and with Shopify’s manageable and scalable capabilities, Virgo Boutique has been able to experience even further growth.
